Background of PIED

 Public Initiative for Empowerment and Development (PIED) is a non-partisan, not-for-profit Christian-based humanitarian, development and advocacy Non-governmental Organization with its head quarter based in Nairobi. The organization aims to have branches in all counties of Kenya, with its field offices in few selected areas based on priority needs of the community to ensure equitable service distribution, timely response and service delivery to all Kenyans. We are committed to partnering with government and Non-governmental institutions and organizations that help shape and foster a better world by empowering and developing the community in response to global development challenges. Our practice areas are centered on Capacity building and Education, Health, Environmental conservation and sustainability, Peace Building and Micro-financing.

Our Vision is to be a leading Christian-based Non-governmental organization in transforming lives to better livelihoods. We achieve this by leveraging the values, skills, and capabilities of PIED, delivering measurable and quantifiable results and being accountable to and collaborating with our beneficiaries, funding entities, and partners

Our Mission is to enhance community empowerment and development by providing sustainable solutions that contribute to enriched quality of life through strategic interventions such as Building and Bridging for Peace, Entrepreneurship, Advocacy, Social cohesion and integration, improved health, Agricultural Productivity and competitiveness, and alleviation of poverty. This comes to you as a follow up in reference to the above subject matter. As the Vision bearer of PIED family, I believe that this is noble idea since it will strategically position our NGO for major funding in the near future.
